the opening scared the shit out of me as a kid. Granted, I first saw it on my teevee a while after it had being released, but my mother was so taken aback by it, she forbade me from watching the rest of the movie.

Dany's arc goes from strength to strength as she grows as a character. I'll admit to not being too enamored with her arc in AGOT, but from ACOK onwards, her chapters have been superb. I'd put the blame of her weak storyline in AGOT on the Dothraki as her, although it gets better as it goes on.
