During the reign of Mr Bush, I watched a LOT of Python, which came across as the Voice of Reason. Makes you think, dunnit?

I had to sneak downstairs to watch it, as it aired at 11.00 most Sundays in the UK. I had only one or two like - minded friends at school next day with whom to share what I'd seen. Their minds were indeed blown, as was mine. F'Tang!

I showed the movie version of "Year One" to my wife (who does not read comics at all) and she was struck by the beauty of scene after scene. All of them were cinematic versions of panels from the Miller/Mazzucelli original.

In the 70's we wanted better production values for our adult medium. We were stupid. The price shot up to whatever it is now, so we could no longer afford comics. If the new new new Marvel series was 12¢ (or maybe 25¢) a pop with shitty newsprint as before, maybe we could get into them again. They could make it up…

I dunno. The Romans were particular about keeping records, and Joseph and Mary were on their way to a census when Jesus was born, so there should be written records of some aspect of Jesus' life. Are there? (Google it: no.)

Our vicar once got me and my friend to admit that we were full of sin, and as we were doing it, I was thinking, "Wait a minute. I'm only ten. What did I do that was so bad?" Not too many years later I listened to Aqualung and read Vonnegut. Case closed.

THE best, I think, as she gets in all the elements that the Fabs never quite managed to put together on one version.

I'd been sitting enjoying the show, vaguely wondering what the big screen thing behind them was for when they got to the thunderous drums, followed by a blackout and the "Giant" display of fairy lights. Somehow they'd all switched to glocks in the pause, and they played a lovely, intertwining tinkly piece which led…

I still have the LP. I played "Infinity" to a pal, warning him it was the weirdest thing ever, and he was, like, "Meh. Not so weird." But he didn't pay £3.99 for it in 1974, so he wouldn't have experienced the same sense of shock as me.

Stagnation is the best track on the LP. But even Gabriel had his doubts about Epping forest. (For me it was too "Round the Horne" with its twee vicars and poofs.)
