They're in a sucky period.  They've had strong periods, though.

I would probably choose Ween as well.  Some of the closest competition would be from the Melvins, Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds, The Flaming Lips, Yo La Tengo…  But yeah, everything from GodWeenSatan to Paintin' the Town Brown came from the '90s, and that's not a run that many bands can fuck with.

At the very least, as a tactic to get Jesse to cooperate with him.  But Hank hasn't shown any more awareness with Jesse than he did when he sat in that diner with Skylar.  He just assumes everybody's on the same page he is, and it's never true.

That could be a desirable outcome for Hank.  But in my opinion Jesse's not out to do anything but fuck with Walt and hurt him.

Team that up with the idea that Hank could also show Jr. Walt's bullshit confession DVD, and you've got yourself a pretty interesting scenario…

Good call.

Well, that's an interesting potential in.  But I still mostly see the situation as some stranger comes in and tells the kid a lot of wild things that he, so far as I see, doesn't have evidence for.

Yeah.  Welcome to at least fifty the fuck percent of what goes on around here.

There are a million discussions of that in the comments to the last episode.

As was discussed in this episode, Jesse is distinctly lacking in proof.  I think that invalidates your ideas (a) and (c).  And I think (b) is just wildly improbable.  I think better theories are being floated, e.g. that Jesse goes public that he himself is the genius Heisenberg, something of that nature.

Re: “Are you spying on me?!” “Yes, and I feel just awful about it.” Hilariously, Walt's reaction is a lot like the reaction that so many fans have to Skylar.  "What?!  How fucking dare she spy on him?!  She didn't know what he was up to!  He told her there was nothing going on but a gasoline malfunction; she should

I agree; I'd be surprised if it's ever mentioned again.

How could he possibly convince him?

I don't think a confession is necessarily an homage to another show's confession.  And our only seeing a few seconds of it made it pretty different from the lengthy confession scene with Vic.

Wait, it literally saved the entire fucking planet?

Agreed.  He never addressed Jesse like Jesse's feelings or ideas have any value.

Personally, when it comes to reluctantly telling the awful truth, I'd tend to believe a slouching mumbler over someone managing to seem confident and kind of cocky.

Though this is after the show's given a whole lot of evidence that Jesse could give a shit if he lives or dies.

I agree.  If the series doesn't contain anymore long, drawn out Walt lying to his family scenes, I certainly won't mourn their absence.

It certainly wasn't an overwhelming episode.  It just sort of left  me saying, well, I hope Jesse's idea is damn good.
