Coming from a not so huge Freddie Gibbs fan, this album was/is a pleasant surprise. I knew Madlib would bring it but Gibbs delivered.

Is it free? If they give me free food then they're my hero.
Frank Ocean just became my hero.
I do think he's "aware" but more than once, he's spoken on the nature of Katherine and Damon as monsters and it always seems that he doesn't view himself the same as them. Which bloodthirsty or not, ripping innocent bodies apart then putting them back together is pretty vicious. It's up there with Damon carving out…
I find it hard to root for Stefan in terms of "YAY, he's finally standing up to Elena and her bullshit" because of how manipulating he was in meeting her and how her life was pretty much ruined by his presence. I do root for him to be a better person and not be petty about everything.
And by "Damon or Stefan having to deal with..", I mean it never feels like they have to sacrifice anything the way the other characters have to when Katherine shows up.
Bonnie/Matt have had a lot of shit happen to them because of Elena, Damon, Stefan, and Katherine is by extension, a problem that Damon & Stefan brought to Mystic Falls.
Damon used to be my favorite character but I'm on the fence about him now. I would like him to retain some of his old spark but also grow and stop making his life about the girl he loves. Like don't murder people because you got dumped but that may take the fun out of this show. I'd simply be happy with the show…
Yea, I understand those criticisms for sure. Sadly, a lot of the criticisms have to do with her being classified as a "slut" and her being "pathetic" and "whiny". I don't know, maybe it's just me but that rubs me the wrong way especially since we had almost three seasons of Stefan moping around. It just tells me that…
I thought this episode was pretty decent.
I actually don't need Mike & Harvey interactions and I think that's exactly what's wrong with the dynamics on this show. It becomes too much of a bro show and I don't care that that was the initial premise of the show because Jessica, Donna, Scottie, Sheila, & sometimes Rachel are more interesting than Mike & Harvey.
There is relatable characterization, the characters wear it like clothing. I feel like I'm watching the most Dostoyevskian characters. They feel like ideas/attributes.
It all boils down to what you prefer or how you watch films. Yes, his films are stylish and he certainly does a good job at making you feel like you're in this weird alternative universe but for me, it just seems like his films are more style than they are story.
Maybe not "upset" but my comment certainly poked him the wrong way.
.
Someone who gets away with making the same type of film over and over but for reasons unknown, is treated like the the second coming.
I thought this episode was pretty good. How great was Gloria though?
Thug Cry is undeniably perfect and probably the only track of Ross' that I actually like opposed to just tolerating. I think this is a step in the right direction for him though. He knows his beats that's for sure.
Also, I think SZA will be releasing something this year too. Nothing confirmed I believe.
Oh..we eatin'.
