I predict that Blockbuster will survive for a couple more decades, although it will certainly close some more stores. There's still lots of people that like renting from a store, and while that number is dwindling, I think it's enough to sustain one video rental chain.

Agreed, there's other shows that I respect more but this is the show I look forward to the most.

Yes, but it's present-day Kentucky so roughly on the same level of cultural advancement as Deadwood.

I think it's just as crappy as ever, but my expectations have lowered each week so it's been less of a disappointment.

Fools! The best show in this time slot is Justified.

Then it's a good thing you have that lucrative directing career.

Socialized medicine!

I hate to defend James Cameron, but he's got a point. Most American multiplexes only have 1-2 screens rigged for 3D. Alice in Wonderland took over most of those, otherwise, Avatar would have made another couple hundred million in those theaters. Cameron is right to consider the possibility that if there's no big

Everyone prefers the version they saw first. I saw the UK version before the US one, hence it will always be the definitive, superior show.

Keen Eddie was pretty outstanding - fun characters, great dialogue, even a few good mysteries (although it suffered from the frenetic McG-style music video direction). It got the usual Fox treatment - they marketed the crap out of the first couple episodes but when it didn't immediately get a big audience, they

Anything that helps keep the show on the air is fine by me.

Annoying.
Now I will have to publish my "Best Films of 2009" list in July instead of June. I hate not being able to see non-blockbuster films until six months after everyone else.

Tasha regularly gives reviews that are significantly better than the critical consensus to films with striking, imaginative visuals. See her continued championing of "The Fall": http://www.avclub.com/artic….

Let's not be too optimistic
He did direct Superman Returns and Valkyrie.

The reveal would be that the women V's all have giant male lizard genitalia, and they wouldn't be able to send pretty blonde V's down to seduce our idiot teenagers anymore.

I would be just as critical of this clumsy kind of political commentary if Anna wore a cowboy hat and spouted Bushisms.

Or it could hover in that no-man's land of quasi-competent mediocrity and waste all of our time.

Neal Stephenson
I would cast my vote for at least one of his works from this decade - either the Baroque Cycle or Anathem. His books are fun and well-plotted, his dialogue is excellent, and he uses fiction to explore a wide range of ideas from metaphysics to finance.

I agree about this decade - easily one of the top three video-gaming decades of all time.

You guys have inspired me to create Citizen Kane: The Videogame.
