Ouch.
I hate it when film and music geeks try to make me feel like a big loser for liking computer games and junk food.

Agreed that the VB coverage here was great. New episodes debut Oct 18th, maybe they lumped it in with "more shows will be added as the season goes on".
Isn't it a problem that "Heather" isn't really a common name among teenage girls like it was in 1989? They'll have to call the show "Madisons" or something.
It was called the LA Quartet, and I think it had more than three books but I can't remember how many.
They updated their article to show that their guesswork on the fat and caloric content was way off.
"system isn't worth it" - it is possible that KFC food erodes the verbal center of your brain, however.
If you don't eat greasy food normally but you try it once a year, it will not go down well. That doesn't mean there's anything inherently vomit-inducing about the food, just means that your system isn't worth it.
I need to know - did James get the text that Jules fancies him? And what was his response?
I would have kicked things off with Don't Tell Mom the Babysitters Dead.
She's in the Sears Appliance Blue Crew, so I guess she can sell you a washer/dryer to match your carpet and drapes.
There's no way this film will be as awesome as…
…John Landis's documentary "Slasher" about used car salesmen.
Every year, there's a couple big blockbusters, and a couple kids movies, that are legitimately great films. I would think that without reviews those would be pretty tough to identify.
Coincidence.
Yeah, Black Book was pretty glossy. For instance, the scene where the film's heroine is severely beaten and then doused in human feces could have used some more "grit".
As the proprietor of "Tim's Dolphinburger Cafe", I am opposed to this film. I think it's wrong for anyone to threaten my livelihood or that of the legions of rural Japanese fisherfolk I have enslaved. Also, you haven't lived until you've tried my X-Treme Dolphin Nachos.
Slavery reparations
Steve, I disagree that Josh's convo with the civil rights guy "never escalates". At the end we see that the guy doesn't actually advocate slavery reparations - he just feels it's important to talk about it and he lent his name to a book jacket in order to further the conversation.
With the Hater, I never get the feeling that she takes any of it that seriously - it's just, "let's laugh at how awful this is" and move on.
Daily Buzzkills
Just like The Hater, only with 60% more seething, barely-contained rage.
George Stephanopoulous (a major inspiration for WW characters like Josh and Sam) used to pack out college lecture halls. In modern terms, I think you could fill an auditorium on any major campus for someone like Rahm Emanuel or Mona Sutphen. There's political geeks in every college.
The Supreme Court can and has sentenced people to death (albeit indirectly, by denying their appeal). See Gregg vs Georgia or McCleskey vs Kemp.
