I like to think Finn was actually under her control all along or at least to a much larger extent than the show clearly indicates. Like say, she was doing it to him subconsciously.

On the other hand, my problem with Nathan was that he was a charming dickhead to an either really shallow or a purely sociopathic level. Really. he might just be one of the most morally awful characters in television that I can think of.
