There is a surprise twist at relativistic speeds that I did not see coming.

Even in the context of the show, he's a fake American. It seems unfair to complain about a bad American accent.
I suspect this isn't going to be a popular view, but I downvoted it. I thought it was a bad idea. NBC has enough trouble creating quality shows with decent ratings these days. Trying to create quality shows with decent ratings and diverse casts is a distraction they can't afford.
The German version of Grounded for Life was No Mercy for Dad. I challenge anyone to think of a more German name for a sitcom.
I'm not familiar with that one, but this sounds an awful lot like the Smatthew episode of Newsradio.
I loved Warren doing the countdown for Jackie to start the video. He knows to do the "2" silently, but then he says "1" out loud. Very clever and very subtle.
Combining those two stories into a single sentence comes off as a little unsettling, especially for those of us who didn't read the comment above first.
I'm not so sure. Are there multiple machines or multiple gods? Or should it always be singular because it's a single god in a single machine that simply pops up repeatedly?
I got 19 out of 20 despite not knowing any Ikea products. It's possible I listen to too much metal.
The show has never said that it's a documentary and they don't film the non-confessional scenes in a documentary style like The Office did. The confessionals on Modern Family are just an unexplained narrative device. Parks and Recreation is borderline. Initially, it was filmed more like The Office, but they've gotten…
What's the justification for the confessionals on Modern Family? As I recall, the original plan was that they would be part of a documentary project being filed by an exchange student, but that was cut.
We had Celebrity Boxing a few years ago. That's the only degrading former star reality show I ever watched. I don't know why it didn't catch on. It had everything I look for in a reality show. Violence…
"And we meet Dean’s new girlfriend for the first time, played by Arielle
Kebbel (who has bounced from CW show to CW show since). I’m sure she
won’t amount to anything."
Wait, you would have to trim your mustache to look like Sam Elliott? Are you saying your mustache is bigger than Sam Elliott's?
I spent my first year in a dorm with two roommates. The dorm had free internet access, but they blocked porn so one of my roommates spent 4 or 5 hours every day tying up our phone line with a dial-up connection. He never admitted what he was doing, but he was never able to come up with any other explanation for why he…
Is it just me or was the scene between Santiago and Holt discussing crime stats a subtle plea to Fox to be patient with the ratings?
This article raises some serious questions about the influence of advertisers over A.V. Club's editorial discretion. It can't be a coincidence that they're publishing anti-weight loss propaganda the same week they're hosting advertisements for White Castle.
This should have been a "For Our Consideration." Whether or not you agree with author, this is not a television review and the "F" has nothing to do with any statement about the quality of the show.
When you say that Louise threatened to "mail and possibly kill" Tina and Gene, is that a typo? Is that supposed to be "maim"? I'm honestly not sure. I don't remember any episodes where Louise tried to stuff someone in a package and mail them, but it's not totally implausible.
The premise of the show is that there is a brother and a sister, both of whom are being pressured by their mother to have children. That's pretty much the definition of gender equality.
