Marty Robbins's "Gunfighter Ballads and Trail Songs" was pointlessly re-ordered for its CD release. I mean, why the hell? It actually takes effort to pointlessly re-order the songs; I can't see why they did it.

I watched the Stride commercial in silence. It wasn't too bad. And I didn't understand all of you folks' complaints.

David Lynch includes a "Television Calibration" feature on a few DVDs of his (it's on the Eraserhead, for sure). It has a few tests for brightness, color, and contrast, so that the picture will look at intended.

Not quite the same thing, but I'm reminded of "I Married a Witch"— near the beginning of the movie, malevolent witch Veronica Lake accidentally drinks a love potion intended for Fredric March. (She falls for HIM.)

And his noirs! Check out the insane "Somewhere in the Night" and "House of Strangers"— Mankiewicz really threw everything into his movies. If nothing else, they integrate sound and images as well as any film of the era.

East Village Radio also has some great shows. I can't count the number of great obscurities I've learned through "Chances with Wolves."
