"Great news everyone! I have received notice that a prince from Nigeria wishes to invest in Downton. Make preparations for his arrival while I send over funds for his travel."

Did anyone else get the impression at first that Carson might be gay? I know I've heard it speculated a while ago, but he seemed to handle the Thomas situation with much less bluster  and more sympathy than usual.

That shot of the girl playing Tug-Of-War with Mama was pretty sick.

I'm kind of confused by Matthew's plotline in this episode.* What is he afraid of saying? Obviously, he shouldn't just insult Lord Grantham to his face, but he can't give suggestions as to how to manage the estate? Wasn't that the reason why Lord Grantham had him look at the books?

Well, that's lazy as fuck.  Isn't creatively coming up with arrangements of songs what Glee allegedly does best? They couldn't even do that!

I just thought Jay and Gloria  were horrible in the first half of this episode. I was thinking about the scene where they steal the cake in comparison to Jerry stealing the rye on Seinfeld, and I realized what MF was lacking: humility. Sure the cast on Seinfeld talked a good game sometimes, but it was usually clear

Really late I know, but I'm getting a little tired of the recent (it appears that way) media-wide trope of stupid people just saying whatever's on their mind like Dug from "Up." It appears to be the only way stupidity is portrayed nowadays.

I think Secret World of Arriety was ineligible, as the Animated category goes by initial release in the country of origin.

As great as "The Line" is, I'm almost as equally enamored with the exchange:

This film kind of reminded me of an American History version of Politico. Just repeats talking points and reports on the process side of politics, without going that far beneath the surface. The film doesn't shy away from presenting the sausage-making side of politics, but in the end, none of that seems to really

Having only one person eliminated in the finale was kind of weird. I'm guessing that they planned it in advance, since they had a double boot after Dana left, when they didn't have to. She left two days into the cycle, same as Colton, so it's not like they HAD to boot someone else. A lot happened earlier that ep with

I'm pretty if you adjust for inflation LPs probably cost that amount if not more in the 60's.

So, my theory is that the creepy rapper guy is a cult leader and has
kidnapped all these children. It would explain why a preteen girl is
cooking Thanksgiving dinner by herself and the seeming lack of any
adults in this universe.

Speaking as someone who's gay, while I'm not defending Cam and Mitch not being that affectionate, at least part of that is probably due to Cam being fat, which I never really see brought up when this is discussed. Overweight people being romantic and affectionate is probably a big turn off for people both gay and
