Bizarrely, I actually just finished watching Elysium about 20 minutes ago. I didn't like it much.

This fucker is going to outlive David Bowie, in terms of accumulated lifetime. There's no goddamn justice.

I was imagining them swimming into a glass wall, and seeing a crowd of people just standing around bored, except for one fat kid who's actively rooting for the sharks.

Did it at least have the sense to name Johnny Depp's character Nick?

I'm guessing they were they just in an aquarium exhibit the whole time. Ridiculous, I know, but, well, look at the movie.

It's actually kind of surprising none of the sequels has been titled Old Habits Die Hard. I guess they're saving it for the "Die Hard in a retirement home" one.

I get what @corndog:disqus was thinking— I thought the same thing for a moment too before guessing "stroke"— but "medical emergency" might have been a little clearer. "Medical event" sounds like it could plausibly be some administrative thing at a hospital like the Annual City Hospital Diagnosis Competition And

Man, I hope so.

That sounds like a hastily invented excuse on the farmer's part.

What's most galling (or not most overall, just most right at this moment) is that all this secrecy and rush and everything that McConnell's doing is the exact same thing he and other Republicans whined to the high heavens about the Democrats doing with the ACA bill way back when.

Maybe Saul Goodman is actually a heretofore-unseen twin brother named Timmy McGill? Trying to help out here.

The man makes a pretty strong bird.

It's either that or the constant splat of pigeons against the glass…

I mean yeah, I'm assuming she did indeed nod off or black out and that's what led to the crash, but that's at least partly because my thoughts during that were "wait why are they showing this for so long uh-oh nothing better happ—"

I (like probably a huge number of other people) went back and watched in slo-mo, and I didn't see Kim's eyes close just before the cut to the airbag going off. They way it was cut though doesn't mean it didn't happen, especially given that Jimmy pointed out Kim had done another all-nighter the night before.
