I'm happy that Doc Hayward spends his retirement cheerfully fishing and eating breakfast. It warms my heart.
A lot of Twitch players don't do that. Many are chilled, informative and welcoming to a small fanbase e.g. speedrunners such as Big Jon who runs a family friendly calm stream where commenters can discuss games, food and life. It might seem lame to some, but some Twitch players have a nice community.
I wouldn't be surprised if that was one of the influences. The album is chalk full of influences and callbacks, which isn't a bad thing because its superb.

Although not a "classic-era" writer, I think Nicholas Briggs should be given a shot at writing a TV episode or two.
