Wow, the AV Club gave this movie a "B"???  How many telenovelas did the reviewer ever actually watch (or for that matter Will Farrell, et al)?  This is a movie written and directed by two gringos and headlined by a third.  It would certainly "wow" them that any KKK / Minuteman Film Festival.  But it has about as much

Hi can anyone explain this basic point to me:  Why would Vampires hate Werewolves anyway?   This whole series (and others including the Twilight Saga) depend on this opposition.  But what's it based on?  Dusting off my books on Carl Jung … I see two nocturnal archetypes living "in the shadows," one perhaps more

Since she violated the terms of her student visa, she was not allowed to reenter the United States "as a tourist" afterwards (yes, while brown people generally have to present practically a full-dna scan before they get any kind of visa to enter the United States, WEST EUROPEANS generally don't need anything to come

I find the futuristic presentation of savage, darwinistic capitalism horrific but is the solution really "going Patty Hearst?" http://frdennismoviereviews…

Wow you folks are rough ;-) / Did _any_ of you see "Rudy" or one of "Bells of St. Mary" / "Going My Way?"  This was almost certainly intended for nice Catholic families with their 5th grader on the girls' basketball team.  Go Annunciata Raiders! (or Chicago's own "Mighty Macs" of Mother McAuley H.S ;-).  — Fr. Dennis

Loved this film.  Perhaps the greatest fear of a parent is receiving the phone call that the father (Martin Sheen) received at the beginning of this film — that his wayward (and in the case of this movie, only) son had died.  Yet the film doesn't simply "take the father's side" in the story.  Instead, it becomes clear

More to movie than meets the eye: It's NOT just about Jackson Miss of the 1960s it's about _us_ today.
Hi, though I completely understand the complaint that the movie was still basically about white people (pity Margaret Mitchell or Harper Lee if they were writing today… BUT I UNDERSTAND THE COMPLAINT).

Wow, I really liked this movie :-) — Twilight Zone meets the Wormhole
Wow, as opposed to a lot of people here, I really liked this movie. Reminded me of the Twilight Zone series. I also liked how the girl took the job of a janitor ("cleaning lady") after getting out of jail. Reminded me of Morgan Freeman's

Chris Rock redo this movie playing Carell's role?
I was wondering, especially due to some of the controversy surrounding the teenage sexting in this film if Chris Rock should redo the movie in a couple of years, perhaps even having a white wife (and hence mixed race children).

Why did I "get" this movie if it's supposed to be so awful?
I actually liked this movie. I liked that the two were using Walmart quality cameras to tell a story, and I _liked_ the twist that midway through the movie Enci breaks character and reveals herself to be an actress playing a part. It's a reminder a la "Wag

LOL santos ;-)

Would you be happy in a NSA or simply FWB relationship?
I was just wondering, would you be happy in a "no strings attached" or simply "friends with benefits" relationship?

Actually it's the same douche … ;-). I just mistyped the address the first time around ;-). Anything insightful to add?

Funniest Gut-Wrenching Breakup Scene since Woody Allen's Bananas?

Not that the review was _that_ thrilling/insightful, but the actual address is:

Why the hate? SOOO much nicer than either Taken or Sex and the City
I was wondering why this Princess Diaries-like movie was so trashed by the AV Club. I mean Monte Carlo was so much nicer than either Taken (where Europe was portrayed as an awful, extremely dangerous place where Liam Neeson had to kill seemingly

Inspiration behind the Transformers - Rubik's Cube, Buddhism, Origami, Godzilla, Quantum Mechanics?
I was wondering if anyone knows of an article somewhere that gives an explanation for why the Transformer toy-line came into existence to begin with.
