Black woman says: white guys will often, out of ignorance, malice, or lack of social grace, make seemingly casual comments that contain uncomfortable racial and sexual overtones. This (understandably) makes her uncomfortable.

Why is it that we have to make people into good guys or bad guys when the show does a pretty good job of capturing people in their full complexity? Isn't it more interesting that people can be capable of both cruelty and kindness?

For someone who lived in the quarter through two Mardi Gras Days, I thought the episode was pretty accurate. Disneyfied as it may seem, in my experience, it really is a time where families come out in crazy coordinated costumes they spent weeks on, people strike up 24 hour friendships, and exes hook up for stress

I think David Goyer is generally a pretty talented writer. Or at least you can say that he's done some work that would seem to indicate that he understands character and story structure. So what the hell happened in this movie? My guess: it's hard to make a Blade movie when you want to talk to Wesley Snipes
