I liked it but preferred last year's special. Also, I'm kind of thinking it might be fun to have a family as the Doctor's Companions next. Not long term, but just for 3 or 4 episodes. It might be interesting to see him deal with a group of people.
He could also be considered a Scottish stereotype with the miserly aspect; and I think the Disney version certainly plays with that.
Always loved this episode. I remember thinking that even the colors in each timeline were different. The past seemed more vibrant, the present a pleasant pastel, and the future dark and gloomy. Ah TNG. :)
