i agree it's a spectacle totally worth watching once. but it's not very good.

donnie darko is the ultimate crappy directors cut, and pretty good foreshadowing of his later work

good lord, who fucking cares. you realize this happens ALL THE TIME. i occasionally write music for commercials, and every ad agency *ALWAYS* says "make a song that sounds like x" or sometimes "like x crossed with x (but with horns)". any time a song isn't a licensed track, its a rip off of another track.

i'm guessing it's sean o'neal.
WAIT WAIT WAIT - you're telling me at least one of the av club writers has not only watched *BOTH* 'fred' movies, but also looked at *MULTIPLE* fan sites to glean information about his intersocial relationships? that's sort of the critic's version of wearing sweatpants and crocs in public, right? just fully giving up.
@avclub-88c03b34bb3d00bab7dbe9fde05e020e:disqus well yeah, i'm not going to read anything about an episode of a serial like mad men before i watch it. in general though, reviews are there to help parse what is and isn't worth our time (…right? am i the only one here?)
maybe the TV club zone of the av club is just more…
ok, now i realize you just don't know what the word 'indecipherable' means.
that's the plot of the movie, yes, though his ravings aren't actually nonsensical. that you can't see the rest of the picture tells me you weren't paying attention.
no, it actually is meant to be (and is easily) understood. i was just giving you the benefit of the doubt.
why don't you just look it up on youtube and watch it again? if your comprehension skills aren't up to the task of deciphering it, there's nothing i can do for you.
you're remembering it wrong.
i feel like i should explain the actual point of reviews to you but you're obviously a fucking mongoloid so why bother.
