Between rubber bands, duct tape, and WD-40, what problems can't be solved???

Whose choice are you referring to? The parents I assume - most high school and younger kids don't have the choice as to whether or not they stay home, that is completely on the parent/guardian.

There are already laws or regulations about a maximum number of days of absenteeism to be allowed to graduate. My vote is that if the unplanned absences due to illness/suspension etc combined with the planned/voluntary absences add up to too high of a number, the parents get a fine at the end of the year commensurate

I wish more companies did that. I work for a pretty spread out company, and I'll occasionally see a new face strolling around my local office, introduce myself, and find out that we've actually been interacting with each other for weeks via email/IM.

Dumb with guns and the full authority of the government behind them

That depends mightily on the source of the rattle - is it the grille, is it the wall, is it a nearby piece of furniture* or a picture frame on the wall? Make sure you're 100% on the source before taking any action. *I was once endlessly confounded by this, when I found some loose change inside of an end table's

Another note for paint - if you have to take the speakers down again for any reason, make sure you run a razor along the ceiling/speaker edge so no paint comes down with it.

That seems nasty but it could work - maybe put some Panduit along the baseboard to conceal the wire, and you can paint it to match the base as well. I wouldn't even use binding posts, just poke a hole behind the Panduit and run the wire straight into the wall cavity, so it looks like the Panduit just ends right under

I'd be curious how a plastic bucket sounds, particularly if there is nothing lining the inside of the bucket. My instinct is to think it would actually make the speaker sound worse because of resonance/lack of rigidity. If you can't find or build a backbox specifically designed for your speaker and its frequency

You need to bump that shit up to 11, and your dentist nightmares will disappear in short order.

I don't know where you live but that is extortionate for a single run. Most electrician/alarm guys I know will run wire (just run, no termination/certification) for about $50-75 per drop. And two speakers using a single 4-conductor wire (loop at the first, end at the second) still counts as 1 drop or maybe 1.5 drops

I know several guys who paid someone to run wires and patch drywall, but then installed and configured all the gear themselves. As long as you know the wire paths and ring them out to verify there are no shorts, this is the way to go.

As others pointed out, installing the speaker is the easy part. Getting the wire there is the hard part, but if you've got the right tools and an accessible attic to work with you're fine. A few tips:

I agree with all this advice wholeheartedly. I work in a small town in the Rockies in a basement office with no windows or light wells, just fluorescents (of course the sales guys up on the ground level get all the light). When I start dragging ass I'll just hit the floor and bang out a set of 10 pushups, and even

Agreed. I generally use Amazon for stuff that is not that expensive anywhere you can find it (e.g. computer accessories/storage, AV accessories/cables, specialty skin/shampoo products, etc.) that aren't an urgent purchase and just wait for it to add up to free shipping. Even if it's cheaper at a local big box there's

The cop chase reference makes it sexy and gets your imagination going, but it really just makes it safer to turn around on any narrow road where oncoming traffic might not see you until it's too late.

Pretty standard I guess. Most of the girls I know that have been in that business (just a handful really) have certainly had at least a couple bad experiences but I suppose it could be traced back to an inadequate screening process or lack of common sense. The couple that I know that haven't had anything bad happen

It really depends on the daddy/momma, but apparently many of them are very reasonable in their requests*. It's not just a 24 hour bang fest where you are a sex slave, but you might have to be more sparing in the BS excuses like "I've got a headache / not up for it right now." Most of the time these men/women have

I don't know about averages, but I know a few sugarbabies and they do get paid thousands per month for their services. Think about how much an escort costs for an hour or two of time, and consider that this is basically a live-in escort that doesn't have the negative stigma of being an escort.

You nailed it. I've never been into that cam scene, but I've set up several dozen pay sites for men and women in the past that focus on that. The amount of profit they make - in addition to the random gifts, there is typically some type of payment to see the show - is insane, and the overhead is almost negligible if
