Uhh what. You do know what a Tool-Assisted Speedrun is and how it works, right? And that they have their own separate speedrun category? You’re not just commenting on something you haven’t bothered trying to understand, right? I really hope so. Because they certainly are playing the game, just not in the way some…
Right, and I’m just commenting on that. “You are saying that he can’t have fun if he wants his political views to be taken seriously” makes it sound like you think they’re saying that in a broad sense, how everyone should view him, when they’re not. Maybe you didn’t mean that, but that’s how it came off, at least to…
There’s a difference between “I can’t take him seriously” and “he shouldn’t be taken seriously”.
I can’t understand how the preciseness of aiming with motion, the minute adjustments you can make, can possibly be worse than the limitations of sticks. I consider myself pretty dang good aim in most games, but my aiming in BotW was phenomenal thanks to the motion controls.
So you were saying comics requiring knowledge of the games they’re about is so laughably ridiculous as to be absurd and unrealistic to all but a categorically small, fickle few who support [something or other]?
Which ones of these are just pointing at a reference as the joke? There are a number I don’t find funny, but as far as I can tell all of them are at least attempting humour. The fact that you need knowledge of the game they’re referencing just also happens to be true.
No, he’s still just using the tranq gun. The joke is that you start with a tranq gun in a lot of MGS games, then you’re given awesome weapons and gadgets throughout but the tranq continues to be the most efficient and fun so you never use them anyway.
The image you shared literally says “This is bad comedy”. If, by that, you didn’t mean “This is bad comedy”, you could have probably shared a better image that didn’t say “This is bad comedy”. If a comic about a specific game requires knowledge about that specific game to be funny, that’s fine. The worst you can say…
Ah, yes, comedy should only have a broad appeal everyone can understand. We should never have niche entertainment.
I may be misunderstanding, but that’s like saying “you can’t critique the multiplayer because it’s poorly-implemented, once you finally get it running it’s fun”.
Then why do so many seem to think it’s pretty easy?
Jesus Christ what are those boobs?
Holy shit lol, you might want to replay A Link to the Past: https://www.gamefaqs.com/snes/588436-the-legend-of-zelda-a-link-to-the-past/faqs/20233
Man I’m so glad we have someone here saying this. Nobody ever says this on every article vaguely related to speedrunning ever.
I’m kind of okay with this, it’s the same attitude I like musicians having with their art. Don’t try to cater to anyone, make your art how you think it should be made and let people enjoy it or not based on that. I haven’t thought deeply about applying that to video games, so my opinion isn’t exactly set in stone, but…
Every site with a community demonstrates some level of hive-mind mentality after enough time, exacerbated if they have some sort of upvote (or star, cough cough) system so people can see “oh this comment is highly-rated, I agree with it” or for people just to upvote/downvote opinions they like/dislike.
Yeah but he said Nomura’s intent is for stuff to look cool. If a band intends to make a good album, then the album sucks, that doesn’t mean they didn’t intend to make a good one.
Awkward Zombie’s comics are great. If you don’t get it, it’s because you haven’t played enough Metal Gear Solid. That’s not really her fault. If you just don’t think it’s funny, well, that’s your prerogative, but I find poking fun at odd game mechanics and video game logic funny.
I would be like “wow this is the least funny comedian I think I’ve ever seen”.
