And I think in the grand scheme of things, we’re not buying terribly different things, so we don’t need ethnically-inspired advertisements. We’re all just trying to order takeout from GrubHub and a mattress from Casper and audio books from Audible.com. So this whole thing makes it sound like non-white races are…
“Try talking about “food” and “eating food” to bridge the cultural gap!”
Steve Martin as Wholesome Dad is just very comforting.
Quick, call Patty ASAP!!! I’ll be so sad if they trash this movie altogether. What Wonder Woman and Black Panther have definitively shown us is that there’s a gaping hole when it comes to superheroes that aren’t white men.
I get that millenial nostalgia is a big moneypot, now and forever. But...aren’t we nostalgic for the actual thing from our childhoods, not a reboot of the thing from our childhoods? I have no interest in a new Parent Trap. Gimme the 90s Parent Trap. (This is just me, but I’d MUCH rather see old movies re-released in…
There are so few of us Father of the Bride fans! Hello friend!
Me @ Gen Z: You’re doing great, sweetie.
Damn, that IS baffling.
So does this mean Disneyworld is going to scrap its Avatar land and replace it with a Wakanda land? Cuz I’m ready.
I know this is a dumb question—is the flavor notably mushroomy? I hate mushrooms, but you’re really selling this blended burger situation to me.
There is a very real reason why so few movies you’ve ever seen star A black person, let alone an entire cast/world of them. Let’s not be silly here. (And the problem is arguably even worse for every other non-white group.)
So many genuinely sweet, endearing moments in the birthday parties episode that really flesh out these characters. Lorelai waking Rory up in her bed, Richard telling Emily she looks lovely, Rory being excited about Emily’s birthday gift, Paris showing her vulnerability, etc. This episode is a great example of how this…
Does anybody know what was up with the totally bizarre set-up in the scene where Sookie goes to the food critic’s house? Why did they try so hard to hide his face and have Sookie keep her back to him the entire time? (It almost strikes me as some kind of weird pay issue with whatever extra they were using...)
That was my first thought...Who’d be dumb enough to go back to a restaurant the night after they ditched on their bill?
I mean this must be awful for his family, and their fears may very well be valid....but I’m not sure how taking money from a hospital is going to help. It’s definitely not going to bring him back, that’s for sure.
Ooo I like the idea of cash gifts. But how do you even go about asking for that? Or did you just have very practical guests?
Yeeeeesssss.
I am a 25-year-old grandma who HATES restaurants that for some reason pump up the background music to club-level decibels, so this is great news. Any chance it’ll cover bars as well?
Honestly, throughout high school and college my parents would TRY to get me to work at In-N-Out. (I was too lazy...regrettable.)
