Hmm, I thought it was fun! I mean it’s a Slim Shady song, very back to basics. Not as wordy as a lot of his recent stuff. In the context of the Slim Shady character it's about what I'd expect that guy to talk about in 2024. Nothing felt particularly shocking in it, it's just silly fun -- the transgender Siamese cat

We hate Eminem now so we are going to pretend he isn’t one of the greatest rappers of all time.

Always thought it was weird people criticized SSM as like an actual scientific experiment when it’s pretty clear it was gonzo journalism. I’m not the biggest fan or detractor, but I think it’s disingenuous to act like he was doing a controlled experiment, and it actually did have an impact on the food industry, I

As Dr Lizardo said elsewhere, most rich people don’t want to be famous. They want to just sit there and amass wealth/influence.

He’s already such a mythologized figure. There’s value in portrayals that he can’t influence.

Unbelievably fucked up for the tone of this article to be “well, he’s worked for Johnny Knoxville and Eric Andre, he should expect to be physically assaulted at random times.”

I’ve seen this type of thing before - the living embodiment of the “triggering intensifies” meme.
I’m not sure there is a right line of work for those kinds of people.

i dunno, feels like the old “if you think everyone you intereact with is a jerk, maybe its really you that’s the jerk” kind of thing (paraphrasing Justified)

Brutal to have to read an article referring to one person as “they” multiple times.

Well, this crap didn’t work on David Cross; maybe it’ll work on this guy!

When I read this it reads like multiple people were abused on the set. “They were physically assaulted. They recieved a back injury.” I get she wants to be called they/them, but it makes for ridiculous writing.

I was just going to say, I don’t think I’ve ever seen any story involving this woman which hasn’t been about her claiming something horrible happened to her behind the scenes.

The best comment I’ve seen anybody make about this is “Roger Corman’s funeral will be on time, under budget, and have enough extra footage for three more funerals.”

In the midst of all the cheap exploitation, it’s easy to miss that Corman made some legitimately good films, The Masque of the Red Death is easily one of the best, and most beautifully shot, horror films from the 60's.

I remember reading an interview with Ron Howard where apparently Corman told him on the set of Grand Theft Auto something to the effect of, “If you do a good job, you’ll never have to work for me again.”

I have been to a Duke graduation and it is a multi-part event. The part shown here is in the college stadium with every student graduating (undergrads, veterinarians, M.D.s, everything) listening to a few speeches. When this bloviating is over, there is a break when students go to designated parts of campus for much

I imagine she truly and passionately believes in what she’s saying, so it’s a cause for her. Also, and I don’t know much about the Potter scene, but I think those books and movies appealed to a very broad spectrum, including people who sympathize with Rowling.  People live in bubbles and I like my bubble, but there

JK Rowling isn’t behind on this issue, she’s ahead. The NHS has stated biological sex is real, experimental treatments being carried out on children are being rolled back throughout Europe due to the fact there’s no evidence supporting it, and sporting bodies continue to pull away from allowing males into female

Reminds me of the Louis Black bit about how “The old testament if for us Jews” and that the Christians couldn’t handle the scary and vindictive OG and had to bring in “the nice young man who talked about love and peace.”

It’s ‘contrarian’ and ‘edgelord’ to champion critical thinking skills now? Sounds like something a rib bone would say.
