I'll be totally honest, this is the only racing game I have ever seen that I am even slightly interested in playing (mainly due to the online stuff). Most of the time racing against AI and running around a town doing missions solo just doesn't do it for me (yeah, not a huge GTA fan), I know tons of people like it

I like the idea of single player quests in an MMO racing game. Always loved running some solo quests in World of Warcraft when I wasn't doing group dungeons. Just a nice change in pace but you still feel like you're part of the world and can easily jump into group content. Looks great.

Haha, kinda the thing you can't really talk about directly to the public. I'm just wishing that Kotaku wrote about some of this stuff because this information is more for people curious about WHY things are happening the way they are.

I was trying to say that gamers are seeing online-requirements as it relates to an actual game rather than a multi-year experience that has tons of benefits (mostly related to business and efficient publishing that NEEDS to move away from the archaic physical media). Consoles can bring us games BETTER and CHEAPER and

Not sure where you got the $10 Sony charge for reusing a game disc (they said it is not up to them [SONY]), but MS said it is a PUBLISHERS CHOICE to enable the ability to trade a game in. Are we splitting hairs over the words "enable" and "up to". I might be missing something but honestly, both companies are saying: Pu

Sony has announced that their used/sharing games is exactly the same: it is up to the publishers. Maybe the always online thing might be different, but honestly, the good games will be locked by publishers so lets just bypass that. The issue with this article is that Kotaku has yet to talk about the advantages of an

I understand where you skepticism comes from in regards to EA, but publicly traded companies MUST disclose profit and where profit comes from to their boards when they are publicly traded. So lets cut the bullshit and just acknowledge that the Online Pass made them money and also taught them what DIDNT work in regards

I don't understand what's so hard to understand from the update in the article: the PS4 WILL have a set of games with DRM.

I was compelled to write up a little article talking about entertainment DRM and how I kinda see this whole used game thing being a good thing when it gets executed properly (I also wanted to see how this whole Kinja blog thing was working). Really just pulling some parallels with the film industry and talking about

Really? Every other entertainment business has been putting this stuff in (not simply for greed, but just to survive). The gaming industry is rightfully catching up.

Totally agree. This whole reveal and the coverage is a bummer, not just because of the reporting, but because of the general reaction of the gaming community. What once felt like a sympathetic and understanding community of gamers in favor of change/evolution has become just as (if not more) jaded and money obsessed

Gamers are an odd bunch.

Question One: 5 minutes

You seriously underestimate Nintendo's desire to have the console be a group/family activity which the 3DS isn't aimed at (yes I know you can get 2+ 3DS linked and do whatever... but staring at your own little screen doesn't really count). While group activities might not be your jelly jam... you did skip it in your

Thank you. And lovely writing.

I see where you are coming from. My beef was with the reporting (sensational headline) here on Kotaku. Drill into some of the links and you can see that it was rightfully rejected (link)

As an app developer, I can tell you that if I tried to release something with ANYONE having sex, it would be rejected.
