excellent article PG. Police don't need to take the place of the National Guard. And the National Guard should be deployed to keep these trigger happy cops apart from the populace and press.

Could people please STOP with this QT shit. STOP. A building can be rebuilt. I guarantee you there is insurance to cover it. MICHAEL BROWN IS DEAD. Nothing can bring him back.
They have released the names and mugshots of the looters. http://fox2now.com/2014/08/12/mug…
Still waiting to find out which public servants are committing violence against peaceful demonstrators.
I think he should have been named IMMEDIATELY, too, which would have solved a lot of problems but my point is that he seems to just be a scapegoat. The real problem is racism and its internalization in the culture of this area (at least as the cops see it). That's a MUCH harder problem to crack for the residents who…
And who ever though Al Jazeera would have tear gas thrown at them in fricking MO?
seriously? What the fuck has happened to this country? Nothing about this on mainstream news, not a mention, and I'm in New York. As a minority I have lost all hope in this government.
Many of the major networks were not airing live coverage of anything. Add to that journalists who were actually trying to report on the scene were being rounded up, blocked from the town or just outright arrested.
Watching the live feeds, restraint could have been straight saying "good night, protesters!" and walking away. A hundred people standing in the street chanting (for the police storm troopers posted there) did not need to be tear gassed. Holy shit. This all could be ended by the cops seriously investigating the death…
Wow, the St. Louis PD is really doubling down on the police brutality. No fucks given whatsoever on their part
Update: Antonio French is being charged with "Unlawful Assembly."
This was a pretty blatant attempt to "shock and awe" a population they probably found "uppity" into submission. It might have actually worked had this taken place before everyone had cell phones on their cameras. You have to understand that this kind stuff doesn't happen in a vacuum. What we are seeing is the result…
Welcome to Post Racial America! I see you've flown with us before.
So let me get this straight: law enforcement doesn't dare fight Clive Bundy and his thugs, but unarmed protesters and journalists get the full armed brigade treatment.
The astounding realization that the FPD trying to kick out the media has resulted in this massive barrage of photos, videos, tweets, posts, stories, etc. is so amazing to me. What are you thinking, FPD? The only thing I could think is that these are a bunch of old, clueless people who don't really understand the…
This right here. Don't forget the NDAA - now anyone, including US citizens, can be labelled as enemy combatants and incarcerated indefinitely without reason, trial, or charge.
Apparently "restraint" = not gunning down the protesters entirely.
"Restraint" to Ferguson Police = Arresting journalists, lobbing tear gas at news trucks, shooting unarmed black teenager, firing tear gas and rubber bullets on peaceful demonstrators.
"We've done everything we can to demonstrate a remarkable amount of restraint."
Two words: Bush administration. The police became paramilitary forces to fight the nebulously defined "War on Terror," arming themselves with surplus military weapons sold to them by the federal government.
Do you even lift, 'bryo?
