The S4 is now an A4-s, it is no longer a kick-ass different model, even though the name has changes. The B5 S4 was clearly in a different league than the e46 328, now Audi themselves have admitted to diluting the S name and it’s no longer special, now you have to buy RS to be special.

Except that it doesn’t anymore, now S is simply the higher spec engine for the regular car, Audi themselves have even admitted that S cars will no longer have different bodies, and that an S4 is a direct competitor for a 335, and the A4 to the 328i. They also have S-line, which isn’t any different than a trim package…
