Who pays 4 bucks for 22 pages of content (and I assuming that’s 11 physical pages front-and-back) when there is so much (episodic) digital video content available for FREE online??

Yes, Ol’ Hound Dog Bill always gets credit for all that economic growth during the internet tech bubble as if he was an economic genius and not just another bystander swept up in the dot.com bubble.

I see the Cosbys go to the same hair stylist...

Really?

Give it up, e - you’re trying to present practical, common, business sense thinking (otherwise known as “real life”) in a forum of unrealistic, utopian, political correctness.

I see all the self-righteous PC police are out in full force here. Isn’t there enough real racism out in the world and in the media in real life to direct your anger at than to spend it disproportionally on something that is most probably an innocent, and unintentional, mistake?

Actually, I think the results that you are noticing and “complaining” about are probably more due to the race of the donors than the race of the victims, per see.

Unjust criminal justice system result in this case.

“All that happens is that you become the ONE African American they like but they still hate all those Black thugs and the whole ‘Black culture’.”

Kolgrim: they should give you a standing guest “op-ed” guest blog column for TheRoot, but I guess they wouldn’t want too much competition to shine up their own writers.

What a way to pile on!

I had exactly the same thoughts - this article seems to be using recent tragic events in the news to shoehorn-fit in a personal pet theory.

This story’s pretty funny (because it didn’t result in any tragic circumstances) but it probably won’t be long before we read about a little 8-year old learning how to load and fire a gun....

Yeah, this has “Bad” written all over it. Who was the marketing/creative agency that came up with this commercial and didn’t even have the most basic smarts to have focus-tested it with the black demographic?

There’s one thing to be said about being a “company man,” but it’s pretty spineless to not have the courage to speak up when you think your company is going to make a very big mistake.

“Minus well”? - I’ve never seen anybody write that, but high - very high - on the list is “Wala!” THAT always cracks me up!!

“Next, a requirement like this could disproportionately affect black and brown students in a negative way. For a lot of them, going to college is cost-prohibitive. Even applying to college can be cost-prohibitive; college applications aren’t cheap.”

Wow, there is the *tiniest* bit of resemblance in that area between JJ’s nose and his upper lip in the picture at the top of this article and the JJ I remember from “Good Times”! Everything else is so unrecognizable that I wouldn’t even have guessed it might be JJ if I saw this picture without the story about him.

Actually, PhillyRep is probably right. “Pale” does refer to a fence/border, but if you look into it more, it is “often understood to refer specifically to the English Pale in Ireland.” (See https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/beyond_the_pale)

Let’s be real here.
