Indeed; as much as I like F-Zero X it’s graphics aren’t terribly good, even in those screenshots I think Wipeout looks quite a bit better. That’s even by admission from it’s developers: they’ve openly stated that they sacrificed graphical capabilities so they could get the game to run at 60 FPS.

Playing Wipeout feels like trying to steer a speedboat through a racing course.

Unlike the dark, rough look of Wipeout and Wipeout 2097, F-Zero X comes across as vibrant and blooming.
