I just saw a taxi-cab ad for a movie called “Assassination Nation,” which they’re billing as a cross between Heathers and The Purge.

Film reimagining: A 12 hour period wherein women get revenge on the men who hurt them and they won’t be charged for it: the purge

Hm, not sure I approve of breeding the length out of cat’s legs.

The live performance on Graham Norton is one of the most magical and entrancing things I’ve ever seen on late night TV.

It’s going to be disgusting beyond words to watch 11 middle aged to elderly white males, including the likes of Grassley, Ted Cruz, Lindsay Graham, and Orrin Hatch sit there and pretend like they’re being fair and impartial towards this whole thing. When all they really want to do is say to Ford “Bitch please, you

Anna Maria Tremonti and Carol Off are both total badasses who have been subject to The. Worst. Behaviour from men in particular. They really deserve more credit.

Listening to this is INFURIATING. Aside from his epic bad takes, MacArthur keeps talking over her, monopolizing the entire conversation, just as you would expect from a man used to being in a position of power. He’s such a colossal dick.

Well duh, we all know that things aren’t bad unless they’re illegal! Women are required to silently tolerate harassment that stays just on this side of prosecutable behavior.

I know, right? As much as I LOVE Peter Capaldi...

Right. It’s not women who are confused about the difference between harassment and assault. Most of us learn that first hand, at very young ages, a lesson which is repeated often enough so that there’s really no opportunity to forget.

You don’t get it - that would be tantamount to admitting they were wrong about something. And modern conservatism has only one guiding principle at this point - “Never back down, never admit fault, and never say you were wrong. EVER.”

I think of all of this, the thing that astonishes me the most is that they’re willing to go to these lengths to defend Brett fucking Kavanaugh. Like, seriously, GOP, throw a rock at any gathering of lawyers and you are likely to find someone just as conservative, just as unprincipled, and probably twice as qualified.

The most baffling thing I find about the “good boy who made mistakes” take is that it can somehow exist alongside the “if she’s telling the truth, why didn’t she go to the police?” takes.

He’s too scrawny to actually be Thor.

You left out the most haunting part of the obituary, the part that really broke me. It made me finally understand that line in all the movies that says killing a person haunts you:

Big eyes, slightly tilted head, confused smile, and the use of the phrase, “but I thought ...”?

Freddie is right. It’s truly astounding how easy it is to manipulate men if you act the way they think women and girls should act, e.g. being unintelligent, non-threatening, knowing your place, hanging on their every word, and deferential.

Wow. That takes some stone-cold self-control, sneaking prisoners out in plain sight and seducing people in bars knowing you’re going to take them into the woods and put them down. These sisters were boss.

I don’t know the history, but I can explain what I’ve seen in government over the years.

these guys act all clueless when pushed to diversify the people hired behind the scenes, like sexism is always out of their sight. when they walk through the door, the sexist ghoul leaves. the ghoul only making itself known to vulnerable women and these “nice guys” just dont see it. fuck that.
