I found the best thing. A made-for-festivals skirt which comes with a clip on, zipped up bag. Clip the bag on to jeans belt loops and voila! It's so useful for nights out, hard to steal/steal from/leave anywhere and just in the right place for getting stuff out.

Fanny packs are the ONLY thing that works for going to theme parks.

I have to admit to only opening the pockets in my dress pants half-way and leaving some of the stitching in to keep them from gapping over my fabulously-proportioned (wide) hips... but they DO make women's dress pants with real pockets!! I bought them at Kohl's, and I think they were Dept. 12 brand... I lurrrrve them!!

Bring back chatelaines! Victorian (and earlier) women had attractive clippy chains to hang from their belts, and you could get modular attachments to hold your keys, spectacles, watch, snuff box, you know, all the little everyday things.

Boob pockets = THE WORST. I didn't realize how terrible they are until I got over-excited about a shirt that happened to have them, and bought it in several colors before I realized how terrible boob pockets are.
