I did it growing up because my dad wanted to calculate his little league team’s batting average. Why you would do it “for fun” I have no idea.

Just reading the original article, I was like, “Omg, a real life Buddy Garrity.” and I looked up a picture of him and HOLY SHIT A REAL LIFE BUDDY GARRITY
100% this. I’m a transplant as well. In the South they’ll scream it in your face, in the North they’ll just live in a different neighborhood, underfund your schools, vote against anything that would benefit you, refer to all your kids as “thugs”, write horrific comments underneath news stories about black people, and…
Mount Saint Joseph, as far as I know, has always been considered a great private school that provides an excellent education and plenty of resources. I know very talented athletes who were not accepted due to academic concerns.
I don’t know anything about IMG, but I know about Saint Frances. They make a lot of promises to kids and then either don’t follow through or get rid of them when they don’t measure up athletically.
Is this a place where we’re talking about the best CBD products? I like Diamond CBD but I’m wondering about others...
I guess I’m in the minority because I actually liked it. I mean, I went in knowing it wasn’t gonna change my life, but it was fun and it was funny and I’m not mad about the money or time I spent on it.
Agreed. I also saw Chris Evans in Lobby Hero and he made me feel feelings, even with an ugly mustache and as a horrible character.
My boss says, “Maybe YOU should talk to them about [problem behavior]..its better from a colleague.” and, “Yeah, for years I’ve had weekly meetings with [problem person] to discuss his inappropriate behavior.” *shrug emoji*
I wish I could find it again, but I read an article about how those Ancestry tests can only use comparative results. And since Native Americans are historically distrustful of something like that, they don’t have a sample to pull from and so Native American DNA won’t show up.
Isn’t this the magazine plot from 13 Going on 30?
Yeah, ours isn’t too different, but from what I understand with the amount of standardized testing elementary teachers have to do these days, they have to scale back on some things and social studies and science are the first to go.
Haha, as I was typing my previous response a co-worker was telling me that a student was caught cheating on his midterm, my co-worker told him he was getting a zero for cheating. The student said, “Go fuck yourself.” He called the parent and the parent said her son felt disrespected because the teacher called him…
Man, these days kids can scream, “You’re a fucking liar, you fucking bitch” in the middle of class and down the hallway. Then, in the parent conference, the parent will turn to the teacher and say, well you did lie so I don’t see the problem. And the principal will agree.
Ain’t that the truth! Will I ever learn to stop reading comments on teacher articles?
Yeah, most of the elementary teachers I know don’t even teach any social studies. I used to teach 6th grade and...yikes.
Ive been teaching history for 15 years and we’ve never even HAD textbooks to use! There’s some in the book closet I think but they still have the Soviet Union labeled on all the maps.
Yep. 100%
Just commented to someone else about this book. Seconded.
Have you read “Dreamland”? One of the most interesting things I recall from that book was that the emergence of Wal-Marts in all these small towns made it easier for addicts to steal a wide range of things to fund their habits.
