I thought this was a pretty weak episode. Not much momentum. Madeline is good and interesting, but without the dynamic that's defined the entire show (no Vera, no Sheriff, no Chick, Caleb is dead, Emma/Dylan on their own), there's not a lot to hold on to beyond "this is what is supposed to happen next based on our

Nope. She also doesn't tend to show to up to many of the reunion/roundtabley things, for what it's worth.

Whoa, that takes me back.

Mr Pointy approves this message.

I thought it was a really good episode until the bullshit ending.

Yeah, same. I saw that before watching the episode and assumed it was Max. Then when it was just Quinn and Astrid it was obviously going to be Astrid. Really lazy writing: her death is entirely about motivating Quinn. Astrid deserved better.

I haven't seen that episode in at least 10 years, and I still read that the way SMG says it. Love that episode. It's really a significant step forward for the show.

Wasn't the original story that Tara was going to be resurrected, and Amber refused? The First Evil bit was the start of it?

Great. Now I've got "Under Your Spell" in my head.

I watched season 1 in 1997, got distracted with The X-Files, and randomly tuned in half way through "The Body" when it aired a few years later, and then proceeded to catch up on the whole thing and become a huge fan. I wouldn't suggest it as a first episode, but for me it showed what the show was capable of. I was

Oh my, the hair! So stoked this show is back.

…are the exceptions that prove the rule?

"I had to stop her from…screaming!"

The Shield is one of the great "early golden-age of TV" shows, and the ending is for the ages. I only saw it recently but it was well worth it!

I thought Horowitz did a great job. Saw Berger being a dick, and took control of the situation.

I like this. We know they are doing "their spin" on it and I don't think they can get away from having the shower scene in some form. By having it be Madeline they can honour that classic scene but make it their own.

But…that's the best stuff she does in the show.

To be fair, it wasn't great to start with. The first half of season 1 is weak and it really only reached "great" status at the end of season 2. Season 3 and 4 are really really great, though. I have no doubt they'll stick the landing in season 5.

I think you mean "doing an amazing job". He has done, is doing, and will continue to do amazing work.

Where did Horner rip-off Jupiter? The main ones I know are Schumann 3 in Willow (and a folk tune for Willow's theme), and Prokofiev everywhere (Land Before Time, for one).
