Octopussy 'flat out awful'?! You take that back. And, no, I'm not taking off my nostalgia goggles.

It's also got that plane stunt at the start, which Nolan nicked for the Dark Knight Rises intro.
Not sure if would quite make this list but I'd just like to put a shout out to a bonkers little Australian horror movie called "The Loved Ones", which is kind of like Pretty in Pink crossed with Texas Chainsaw by way of Torture Porn (but in a good way). The lead actress (her name escapes me) is really superb and it's…
The original cuts are coming to Blu-ray. It might be a few more years, but it's going to happen.
As long as they don't cross the 4th wall with it, then I'm OK with that. However, that also seems to be a shorthand these days for "I can't think of any new ideas. Let's make a story about how we can't think of any new ideas!", similar to what Jurassic World was doing with it's slavish fanboying to the original…
I am pretty sure they are ignoring season 8 and 9 mythology and going back to season 3/4 stuff. At least I bloody hope so.
Carter saw something in her and fought for her. The network was not keen because they wanted someone more obviously attractive (!?), like a blond bombshell or some such. Clearly in this case Carter's instinct paid off. She was a totally noobie at the beginning though, which is kind of adorable to see in retrospect,…
I think we're supposed to take them as a couple post "all things", but as you say they played it annoyingly vague. Even late season 8 is this weird middle ground where they're together (probably) but the show still refuses to explicitly admit it until the end of Existence.
Pretty sure she was my first movie-crush. Looking back…damn, I had good taste.
He might have blatanty stolen two of his themes
He (she?) can walk now!? Is this like that thing where they gave R2-D2 rocket boosters? Because I'm totally on board with that retcon…
People hate the Buffy finale? I mean, sure, season 7 was weak overall, but I thought the finale did the job by being emotionally satisfying at least, which is the main criteria for a successful finale.
Except for Dollhouse season 1 that's probably the weakest season under his control. Say what you want about season 6 but at least it went for it. Season 7 was mostly a step backwards until it picked up at the end.
Now I have a hankering to go and rewatch his Satan episode of Millennium. That was gold.
Great score, too. Must be in the running for best debut score ever (Patrick Doyle's first).
Director's Cut of Kingdom of Heaven is superb.
TCM is a masterpiece. Eaten Alive, however, now that is pretty terrible.
FWIW Drew Goddard directed Cabin, not Whedon. Though it's hard to argue his fingerprints aren't all over it.
There are better, more insightful WWII movies than Private Ryan, but the Omaha beach scene is still the best WW2 combat scene ever filmed.
I think War of the Worlds is a pretty great, nasty bit of sci-fi. Up until the last 5 minutes, that is, which is moronic.
