Oh they totally do that. But more in a "of COURSE Henry naturally loves this woman he's never met just because she's his birth mother! and of COURSE Henry naturally hates his adoptive mother!" way than in a "Henry is fucked up because Emma is fucked up."

Also, the thing that cracks me up about Supernatural is that the writers think they're much cleverer than they actually are, and it's so transparent. Makes me wanna pat them on the head, all condescending-like. I mean, it's not the worst writing, but it's not very good either.

I will be honest: at this point, I mostly watch because Jensen Ackles has a ridiculous case of the hot. He totally brings out my bisexual side.

They don't seem to go back and forth in a complex multidimensional way, but rather as needed to fit that episode's storyline.

God, I really hope this means they don't kill Charlie. I mean, they probably won't because the fandom would rebel because everyone love Felicia Day (myself included), but you never know. I love Charlie to pieces.

OMG, Merritt Weaver. I swear she's the reason I got sucked into Nurse Jackie in the first place.

I don't remember specifics at this point, just a major sense of frustration and eye-rolling. I get that it's based on fairytales, which often have really problematic portrayals of adoptees, but one of the main plot points is about the main kid, Henry, being adopted by Regina (the evil queen).

God, yes. Starbuck was beautifully flawed and fucked up and amazing.

Don't underestimate the power of your gif choice to amplify the creepy/unbalanced factor.

I tried so hard to like that show for so many reasons, but I finally gave up after one and a half seasons. I just can't handle the terrible, terrible writing (though the actors do as good a job as they can with it). And also, the adoptee story line just pissed me off—that was actually my breaking point.

Nature is brutal, dude.

dammit, I don't know why the pretty picture isn't working.

What?! I love the Steller's jay!

Now playing

Aww, Flea! I've had a soft spot for him ever since that ADORABLE song "Pea."

wha?! I can understand avoiding Game of Thrones posts, but Arrested Development is HIGH-FRICKIN'-LARIOUS! I recommend Netflixing it stat.

That was the best short film I've seen in a while. I especially love the way the creepy man says "sensible children" in the most contemptuous way possible.

I had a problem with the rapey-ness; I skipped the first half of the first season, and I think that helped. But there is still some rape, and there are threats of rape, and there is a fair amount of explicit torture. And also some racist depictions of people.

Oh my.

I am having so many ambivalent feeeeelings about this show.
