Oat milk? I find it pretty tasty: chalky, but somehow in a good way, y'know?

Yeah, um, I know lots of littles that will happily eat leafy veggies and bony fish and just about anything their parents put in front of them, including raw broccoli as a favorite snack. Of course, it helps that their parents are also extremely well-rounded eaters themselves and introduced their kids to a wide variety

Yeah, they really are different. I'm vegetarian, and I still love cheese, but milk started to taste weird to me years ago, so I stopped drinking it. I usually use oat or almond milk, but sometimes I'll get skim milk in a pinch. I mostly use it for cereal or for cooking.

Can we also talk about how amazing his grandmother, Ruby Cox, seems?

OF COURSE it's by Sady Doyle. I love her. I wish her and Lindy would do whatever is the blog equivalent of a duet.

I am genuinely confused as to how that's not anthropomorphism in the case of your cat...

Yeah, I've never seen obvious disgust on my dog's face, but I've definitely seen aversion. Certain smells, like pot or mint, cause him to give me that sort of wary side-eye look (like "wtf is that and why are you putting it in my face?"), and his body language is definitely a little tense and pulling away from the

Go to the youtubes. Anything from the Standing in the Way of Control album is good. Before that album, they had a different, not-as-good drummer, so they sound a lot rougher, but still good.

They were better before they got all house/electro-pop - in fact, I fucking LOVE them before the last album. Standing in the Way of Control made me feel almost religious. Though I s'pose it depends on what your musical taste is.

Sometimes I forget just how very straight Jezebel readers are for the most part, and then the fact that so many people have no idea who Beth Ditto is reminds me.

Well, sure: it just happened, so everyone's googling it and the most recent and popular items are gonna come up first. C'mon now.

Now playing

So not true. Google won't tell you everything. Their earlier work, especially, was this sort of soul-punk-dance-hallelujah amazingness. Beth's got a great voice, and an amazing stage presence, and Nathan and Hannah are both excellent musicians as well.

Sorry, I can't hear you over the sound of me chewing on this bone they threw me.

When they show a butch woman who is NOT the butt of a joke, I'll be impressed.

Ha! Thanks for the clarification. I still feel old, though, realizing that I could easily have an older teen posting that about me...if I'd had kids. TIME IS WEIRD, basically.

Well. That made me feel old.

Yeah, she's not my fave in general, but I did appreciate her "thanks for the lecture" schooling.

It's worth noting that when she says, "I was a mayor for nine years. I walked in - I saw people shot. I've looked at bodies that have been shot with these weapons. I've seen the bullets that implode," she's referring at least in part to the shooting deaths of Harvey Milk and George Mascone (killed by Dan White) in the
