I can forgive not knowing Hannah to an extent, but you can’t give a decent critique of the characters in the series if you don’t know who Bonnie is.
Nope. But why does #4 matter? I mean, in 2015 it matters because now all of a sudden people view it as an issue but I guarantee nobody pointed such a thing out in 1995. As pointed out in another reply, it’s not like Andy would have girls’ toys. Not only that, the second and third films fixed the issue so it isn’t even…
And let’s just ignore the fact that they are all Andy’s toys. Andy, being a boy, is much more likely to have male toys. I guess they should make a post-2015 Target toy shelves, gender neutral Toy Story, right?
Yup. The moment you start criticizing the lack of realism in an animated movie is the moment you should be watching a Kieslowski movie instead.
I did, but I disagree on his points. Jessie was very layered in TS2, Barbie was great in TS3 and the other characters I listed also won me over.
“Every Compelling Character In The Entire Trilogy Is Male”
Im 99% sure this was “heavily influenced” by a Cracked article. ESPECIALLY Sid...
I’m sorry Kevin, I have to respectfully diagree with several items on the list.
Really just seems like the person writing this is someone with too much time on their hands is trying to over complicate kids movies with their own logic. We can’t just enjoy movies anymore is what I get from this article.
It was quite clearly stated that Buzz was not flying at the end of the first movie, he was falling with style.
As far as RC and Buzz flying. This is a movie about toys that are alive. I think we can let those go.
At least bad dialogue is memorable and amusing. What I’m sick of is video game exposition.
“After the Chardra Renaissance, the Coven’s Revenant Protocol reclaimed the High Bridge for the Shadow Fold, but not without the loss of both Heaven’s Ford and Ravening, two of the Calicifer’s greatest Inquisitrons.”
Not enough. I think, in general, that she deserves a raise, because she has reported and written some of the most interesting articles about video games over the past year or two.
Fan have all the time they want to make something “perfect”, whereas for the anime studios, it’s “just a job” and they have to work on tight deadlines and budget. Of course, it’s not an excuse for poor quality animation, but it does explain why fan art can be “better” than the original material
I hear that isn't true. Animators don't have the luxury to just sit around and mess up animation projects. They're underpaid and overworked and hurried. They can't trudge through that without a ton of passion of the craft. It's not as simple as 'fans care more'. Because I don't think that's fair to the animators.
But to be fair they get months to make a 2 hour movie while they only get days to make an episode.
#4 is way off. Two of the shorts star the lady characters, and are killer. In Toy Story of Terror, Jessie is the star as she overcomes her fear of boxes, while in Time Forgot Trixie is the hero, destroying an entire male-dominated society almost single-handedly.
