We’re not on the same page about her going about it wrong, because my point is that you cannot go about it at all. You can’t “transition...race,” in the sense that you can’t transition out of your DNA/ancestry.

Because the words we use to describe someone’s race, e.g. “black” or “white” are social constructs, but ancestry, ethnicity, etc are very real things.
