Fairly useless information. The various schools have different demographics than the overall university. I don’t think Columbia publishes Fu’s demo data, but given the low presence of blacks in STEM in general, I’d wager a guess that she was often the only black person in many of her classes. Shit, I went to a school

Erm, what? I framed it that way because Julianne’s article, and the original one it references, focuses on black/Latina women’s connection to Beyonce. It’s very clearly not about the connection general “people on earth” have to Beyonce.

Preeetty sure she’s just asking him to be adequately informed on the facts, not enamored.

As black people we have to work twice as hard y’know, but like when you’re successful the hate is even more strong, so it’s like dog years but backwards. For every year of hard work take 7 off?

true that. I just wanted to use the same number as his for rhetorical effect ;-)

bless all these kids

wasn’t implying that he was. a lot of gay men *do* get beyonce, so I had to specify which type of men typically don’t.

Dude (or lady) she’s been lasting 15 *years*! lmao

I think that could be informative to include, but a lot of cis het black men really don’t get why black women love Beyonce so much either.

Pretty sure that’s not the point at all. In fact it’s quite the opposite of the point. She asks that an author simply go beyond “surface observation.” Which is a pretty big leap from obsessive fan with every detail on the subject.

This is excellent Julianne. I have so many things I could say but I’m still recovering from you saying so much of it so perfectly.

This is the first time I’ve realized that she didn’t land any of those swings! Which probs explains why Khloe is smirking.

she was soo so so good in this. seriously one of my fave skits on any comedy show.

Yeah, I think she’s super cute and she seems ameeeezingg to hang out with (PubLizity reference obvs).

ikr! All of her shade is subtle and witty. What Mariah does requires a certain level of intellect, and I love her even more for it.

Mufasa dying in the Lion King gets me every time

And after all this hooting and hollering he’s probably gonna just drop the kid off with his female family members while he goes away on tours and club appearances as he always has. This is about control pure and simple.

Also, I should specify, it wasn’t just her moving on that made her lose his shit. It was really that Russell was so accepting and loving towards their son that damaged Future’s extraordinarily fragile ego. He couldn’t stand that another man was making him seem incompetent as a father. Baby Future is his territory, and

I mean, I completely get it sis, which is why I had to defend Ciara. Was this meant for the poster I was responding to?

As someone who’s been following Ciara and Future a bit since the tail end of their relationship and seen his interactions with her up to this point, I can confidently say that her behavior draws no comparison to his. She actively avoided speaking ill of him any time she was interviewed.
