Looks like they got a lot of the game down already though?

Well, I don’t have either game myself, so I can’t really compare the two of them and test out settings and whatnot. Still, there’s some odd stuff described in that Imgur album that your explanation doesn’t really explain.

I just want to say again that I do not criticize the beauty of this game at all. It is one of the

The Witcher 3 is by no means an ugly game though, probably one of the best looking games ever made in my opinion.
It’s nothing new that developers do this sort of thing, but I don’t think they should completely get away from it. Kotaku journalists have more integrity than most and should point of this sort of thing.

What about the graphics downgrade, no mention of that?

Probably just a placeholder head?

If this was Reddit, he’d even get gold, who doesn’t want gold.

I’m pretty sure they already do that.

Yeah? You don’t think it should maybe be the police and not the military?

Edit: Oh, so that IS the police. What the hell is wrong with your country.

I’d call it a hobby, I just do it for the fun of it. I just use Unreal Engine 4, you know, the free one that anyone can download and use, with a bunch of free assets and a few bought ones. You done being a dick?

Not really, I just sit around and design landscapes, but boy, do they look good.

It’s fully capable of it and has some great free assets, design levels to your heart’s content.

Mantle has already payed off, Microsoft wouldn’t be making DX12 the way they’re making DX12 if they weren’t already pressured to do so. Expect it to outperform Mantle.

Hey, the Unreal Engine 3 demoes were pretty cool, and there’s a TON of cool UE3 games!

I don’t get where you get ideas like that from. Which companies are you talking about?

Let’s have a look at the Android app store and see if we can spot any big game publishers in the top 100 most profitable games list.

21. The Simpsons: Tapped Out (EA)
28. SimCity BuildIt (EA)
31. Minecraft (Mojang)
45. The Sims FreePlay

Five years? That’s pessimistic since DX12 will be available along with Windows 10 in about two months, and there’s already a lot of games that aren’t that far off, even within the boundaries of DX10 and DX11. I think we’ll see these kinds of graphics pretty soon, along with today’s “high end graphics” being available

DX12 will probably be implemented in Mankind Divided, since DX12 will come sometime in.. July if I’m not entirely wrong, and Mankind Divided probably is.. A bit further into the future, to say the least.

Unreal Engine 4 is free, there’s your AAA graphics on a smaller budget.

I don’t mean to be rude, but I really don’t get guys like you, you’re talking like there’s some sort of conspiracy going on to suck all the joy out of gaming for everyone.

There are a couple of large companies that make big budget games that

I strongly doubt it, it’s like saying that the flaming lava thing in the UE4 demo will be a major character in the next Unreal Tournament or Gears of War.

You might want to read up a bit on DX12. The whole point of DX12 is to improve performance, especially for low-end and mid-end computers. It will make “console-like” performance possible on computers, just like AMDs Mantle technology, but push the concept further, with even bigger performance gains.
