Had occasional, cystic acne well into my 30s. It wasn’t all over my face but the pimples I did get were huge, very distracting and lasted weeks. It wasn’t until I developed thyroid disease that my skin cleared up. A terrible trade-off but there’s got to be one good thing, right?

My acne actually STARTED at 35. I had beautiful, clear skin all through my teens and twenties and now that I’m in my thirties by hormonal shifts are wreaking havoc on my skin. It started when I got pregnant at 35 and is just starting to settle down a bit a few years later.

Here is a fun story: I didn’t start getting any acne (admittedly, still incredibly minor) until my late twenties.

Right? My skin finally settled down around 37. Between hormones and FINALLY finding a routine that worked, I now have clear skin at freaking 40.

This is just like my password at work, why do they keep making us change it what seems like ever week, i just want to pick up my keyboard and smash the computer.
