I know it has a “crash girder” but it seems nuts to me to have this bridge continually damaged.
They could install another movable bar right at the exit of the junction, which would be about 10 to 15 feet in front of the bridge. Hitting the bar might give drivers enough time to stop before they hit the bridge.
The fix for this is to lower the street.
