Why are people still using Takata airbag inflators?!
My car was in the very first group of identified models with defective airbags, and I just got the notice last month that one of the two airbag replacements is finally available.
Absolutely: traveling forward in time is quite strange as well.
Still, being extremely dense and thinking I had some form of obligation not to sleep with the other girl because I was just on date with a different one....
Turns out they were so convinced that I was going to miss my connection out of Denver, they booked me on the next flight from Denver to Portland the next day. When I didn’t show up for THAT flight, they canceled the rest of my itinerary.
My buddy and I left Sydney sometime early afternoon and landing at LAX that same morning (yay international date line!).
It is no longer an issue with independent coil packs, but in the days of distributor engines, packing 12 plug wires together could lead to a lot of cross talk as well. The distributor caps had to be fairly large to try to avoid that issue.

Well, perhaps the better question is: could that be overlooked for $1,800?
I’m not sure how much of the cracking was caused by the heat and pressure in the engine, and how much of it was just the fuel attacking the plastic.
I always felt the 2nd gen Mazda 3 should have shipped with a big rubber tongue sticking out of that goofy face.

Those of us with old low value cars do that all the time. If I wrap my car around a tree, that’s on me... but a few thousand dollars and I can buy another one. I accept the risk of that scenario and pay far less in insurance for it. (That savings means I can easier afford another car should I crash mine.)
Side note: how is a $132,000 bill on a $200,000 not totaled?
