Just to be clear here, to Theon, Sansa isn’t being raped. This is rape to us, of course, but you should try to imagine what it the scene means to Theon.

This is another instance where the cracks seem to be appearing in this show a little bit — first, because the Sand Snakes making their move at the exact same time as Jaime seems like the kind of bizarre coincidence the show has leaned on a lot lately.

Just in case you don’t really know this, the “focus” of a scene is often left off-camera to amplify the effect.

In other words, you are shown Theon’s face because it makes you feel worse for Sansa—the true focus of the scene.

I’ve always had this feeling that Richard didn’t/doens’t really like 80 and 90’s era Anime much. I’m probably wrong, but for some reason I think he prefers 21st century, digital-style shows to the older ones.
