This is largely correct. I made a similar comment somewhere. People here are failing to understand what fan-service is.
Calling all the nudity in Kill la Kill "fan service" is just foolish. The writers clearly didn't do it for the fans, they did it as part of the story.

It would be more astounding to claim that Pixar made a unique film that holds up to critical scrutiny based solely on its originality.
Just because they are bad, doesn't mean it is stupid to like them.

I don't actually play many AAA titles, but are we really certain that none of the main characters are gay? Do all these games go out of there way to point out that the main character is unquestionably heterosexual?
