That Jetta....scratches on the hood like it was driven under something. Mismatched wheels, all flat tires...is that a tow bar sticking out of the front? Body accents falling off. Someone had a wing on the back because drilling holes in the truck never causes leaks...  I wouldn’t take this thing if someone paid me to

This all boils down to the “want” argument. If you tell someone what your criteria is for a car, IE 3+ kid hauler. The right tool for the job is a minivan. Then the stipulation is no minivan. Ok...but why ask then?

You lost me at “dealer installed”. I smell warranty issues and price gouging and a extra forced “maintenance” intervals.

They already are in certain markets. The Chinese company that makes the engines for KTM jumped directly into the ADV bike segment and are doing well. They offer longer warranties and more stuff for the price. It’s a ballsy jump considering it is the most competitive segment currently but it is very similar to what

Brake lines stretch right?....right?!

My neighbor across the street begs to differ. If you listen on a quiet night, you can hear the straight pipes on his donked 80s buick regal for about 20 miles. May he rot in hell.

Diesel, manual, regular cab, long bed, mid-sized, 4x4 pickup...

My experience wasnt much of a problem at stoplights but in stop and go traffic, it was like the AC didn’t work.  Like I mentioned to someone else, they were FCA products so the systems were probably the bottom of the barrel in terms of the car world.

Nice. This is the correct answer in my humble and meaningless opinion.

My electric and the wife’s hybrid dont have those issues like you said. I’ve only experienced it on super hot days (90+) with a couple rental cars I had 7 years or so ago.  To be fair, they were from the FCA family so the systems were probably the worst I could run into.

Only issue I’ve ever had with a start/stop system is on super hot days. The AC compressor is no longer turning. That’s bad mmmmkay. It is much harder to play catch up with AC vs maintaining a temp.

There will be software “adjustments” that can be made via an app and bluetooth OBDII reader. I have a 10 year old bmw and I can change damn near anything the computer can do.

I really want to like this car and I’m a big fan of 928s and 944s...  It looks great from 50 feet..but the closer you get, the more you see the bad execution of the mods and potential problems.  The price isn’t outrageous and I’d be sorely tempted if the body panels actually lined up well...except they dont.  Also:

A pillar bloat really is causing some crazy blind spots.

You really think it would take a whole dollar huh?

Isuzu Impulse/Piazza Turbo. The first gen with the pop-up...eyebrows? and not the one badged as a Geo Storm.

I really want to get behind this but I bought an ADV bike recently and it weighs roughly the same, has roughly the same horsepower, and cost 10k. Of course it doesn’t have the torque and it isn’t as well balanced but it will go 250+ miles between fill-ups and is hands down the most comfortable bike I’ve owned in 30+

All about perspective I suppose. I have an 89 K series blazer that I wouldn’t part with for under 35k. Does it have the bulletproof reputation of a Toyota? No...but with nearly 200k on it, it is still my daily driver.

They do not make a great deal of sense outside the ABC Store at 11am...”

If it were infrequent or just guests, I wouldn’t care. Instead it is 2 to 3 days each week. We both have driveways. They have enough room for 2 cars in front of their house on the street. I only have space for one because of the community mailboxes and yet, they always park in front of my house and not theirs.
