While I agree for the average commute, last year I drove a rental moving truck 800 miles in two days and I ended up using my left foot on the gas half the time just to alleviate the fatigue and pain. I would have killed for cruise control in that thing. Disclaimer: I’m not as young as I used to be and I’m sure I

Damn, I missed this question. Back in Feb of 2010, I was driving across the country in a decommissioned swiss army ambulance. I headed north out of Las Vegas one morning and about halfway to South Lake Tahoe, the blizzard started.

And this is why I bought my Alienware for work. Other then the little alien head icon that glows and can be turned off, it looks totally non-descript.  Not sure why they went super conservative on the design but it is great for the office.

This is totally normal in other countries. Japan’s airports are huge malls and security is beyond the shopping areas, often just before the actual gates. Some really good ramen places.

Every company the FTC has gone after for monopolistic practices has always cried about how stopping would stifle innovation and hurt customers.  Pretty sure that has never been the case, quite the opposite actually.

18 months and counting for a Sienna.  We had to change model years twice now because of how long it is taking.  And we are fine with two separate models and basically any option set.  It is still awful for some Toyotas.

And here I am unable to find a place willing to help me with an old tailgate.

This also adds in (by default basically) crossovers being FWD/AWD and SUVs (the traditional definition) being 4WD.

I abandoned this quest at the major choice junction. The only solution I wanted was to paint the walls with the Paradiso execs and that’s not an option. Sure the captain of the Constant is entitled and annoying but it’s nothing compared to telling me I have to pay for a grav drive simply because I chose to be nice.

Some of these look really good but we are super limited on weapons. The Roci needs...what...a dozen auto-tracking ballistic turrets?

Interesting.  I was not issued any refund.

The perk to the leaf is the shielded cargo area. But yeah, the star eagle is a FAR superior ship when it comes to murdering everything in the sky.

I picked up the Star Eagle by level 14. Not saying it was easy (lvl 34 boss...ish dude) but when it comes to overpowered ships early on, it leaves the razorleaf in the dust.  The razorleaf quest is shorter but the baddies are still into the high 20s I think.

Insurance companies are screwing their customers across the country. Fixed that title for you. They had record profits during covid and have even said they were raising rates to keep those profits going. I dumped my last car insurance company because they nearly doubled my rate citing inflation. No accidents or

I suppose I should be more specific: I want a competitor vehicle from a company that I would feel comfortable doing business with. Most manufacturers would be ok. I’d prefer Japanese or South Korean for the warranty and reliability but I like VW’s new all electric bus too.  Stellantis is a flat no-go.  The final nail

Holy hell...the red flags...and the entire car is a literal red flag. The 84 was hardly a good year for the corvette. The first year of the (opinion here, but a popular one) worst bodies ever fitted to the namesake. The motors were fairly anemic because: 80s. It has that 4+3 auto manual transmission that was

It is the I3 so it might be that and that it has one of the smallest batteries fitted to a full electric.  I should have looked up how big the battery was in the prius.  9.5 hours still seems really long for a 40 mile battery.

Toyota is F’ing awful for this. They do not accept orders at all. The only thing people can do is put in a request at the dealership of their choice and hope. Source: Me, waiting on my Sienna, month 19. If there was ANY viable alternative to the hybrid Toyota van...

It takes 9 and a half hours to charge for 39 miles?  My bmw can charge from flat to full in that time...from a standard wall outlet...at the slightly reduced charging rate so it doesn’t overload the outlet.  Granted that is only 90 miles of range but that’s quite the difference.

Not nearly as exciting as some of these stories but I bought a 2012 Jetta Sportwagen TDI just after the whole dieselgate thing was announced. Drove it 20k miles or so getting well over 40mpg and then sold it back to VW under the forced buyback for 10k more then I paid for it. If it has been the manual and not the
