This. My diesel pickup has the manual because I prefer it and it gets significantly better economy then the auto..but if I was towing a lot, I would have gone with the auto.

Companies: You want the manual? Only in the bottom trim with the smallest motor and no options.

My wife thought I was crazy when I was ordering my truck.

You never understand how little time you have as a new dad until you are wrist deep in poop. You will think you have time to work on an old car, then your kid with start throwing up. This is just how it works”

Ahh nostalgia. My mom had an 82 vette. Not the anniversary edition with the opening hatch but the normal one where the only way in or out was the doors. It was 2 seats and a grocery shelf. Guess where I was...but hey, at least the front had seat belts. My dads 50-something Triumph TR3A? Newp. Huge footwells though,

I’m actually very ok with this.  I hope it speeds up the timeline to get the 5.0 v8 out of the muskrat into the bronco.

“...who have financed shitty cars (like horrible Fiat/Chrysler products) that have worn out or broken down long before they should have...”

Naw, power doesnt really matter. The carbureted 351W in my 87 made less then the 2.3.  But it sounded better.  I’m holding out hope that the 5.0 coyote V8 out of the mustang will show up in a sport model in a year or two.

Kinda sad about the engine choices. I was really hoping for something that isnt a small displacement high strung turbo option. I get that the 2.7 has been in use for a while but....eh screw it, I might as well go full on -git off ma lawn-...I had an old bronco and part of it was the slow revving rumbly V8. Can I at

All they really need to do is offer the same things a jeep is known for (to the average person) like doors and tops off with some moderate offroad chops, but make it nicer then a wrangler to drive and live with...which takes almost zero effort. Then just flood the market with advertising.

Maybe I was doing something wrong. I just couldn’t get the interior to work for 4 adults and a car seat and 2 suitcases. In retrospect, I probably should have just lashed the cases to the roof. It also didn’t help that I’m over 6 feet so the driver’s seat had to be all the way back. That really limited the positioning

The journey had two glaring problems they never fixed. Fuel economy in town was some next level horrible shit. I had a 2016 for 2 weeks on oahu and was almost able to get 10 out of it. 10!!....my carbureted 87 bronco got 10...with a v8...and a 3 speed...and MORE interior space.

Keep in mind that these tablets are kinda terrible.  The hardware is generations back and some of the kids games and puzzles barely load.  Ours was so slow that we eventually took it away from the kids and tossed it.  Maybe it wouldn’t be so bad if it didnt have all that cute double profile stuff and amazon bloat-ware

Came to say this. Spokane has always been farther left then Coeur d’alene. Not that it is saying much. As you move east toward state line and eventually into Post Falls, Rathdrum (where I grew up), Athol...trailer park land...it gets worse...places where neo-nazi militia nuts shoot from their compound at old ladies

I think the concept of the orange twitter troll king being trolled by hundreds of thousands of kids on the internet is probably as bad or worse for agent orange.  Whatever makes him feel worse at night.

“Ford confirmed to Jalopnik that the selector is electronic, and not directly connected to the 10-speed transmission transmission.”

Hey now, don’t you underestimate how many problems a car company can have when they have exactly ZERO quality control.

Bench seats are awesome.  I had to custom order my ‘18 to get one but it is worth it to be able to seat 6 legally.

Came here to say this. As long as he isn’t hauling people, the truck makes the most sense for his job and general utility. It has parts that are likely the easiest to source. It is also likely to be the cheapest to keep on the road.

As someone that regularly comes home after midnight into a quiet little culdesac, I want control of my headlights.
