I liked the idea that we had reached a peace with founders. And that their aggression was really driven by fear and lack of trust. Making them evil seems like a step back.
I would have loved to watch Agnes Jurati get infected by a bug and then have her face phasered off by Picard.
Logic? Logic? My God, the man’s talking about logic; we’re talking about universal armageddon.
I’m really surprised that so many people seem to be enjoying this. The bad logic, plot holes, and terrible characterization make it impossible for me to enjoy it.
It’s not needing to be in a liquid form every so often, it’s the idea that they specifically need a bucket. They don’t. That was just something Odo did to keep himself from spreading out too thin. The other changelings didn’t use buckets to sleep, they just let themselves spread out as much as they wanted. In fact,…
Jesus Christ this show can’t utilize Seven right. In Voyager she was always the smartest person in the room. I’m pretty sure she would have come up with the nacele idea. Also, what about her nanoprobes? Those were the quick fix to everything in Voyager. It just pisses me off how they neutered her character.
It’s also worth noting that Odo regenerates in a bucket not because that’s what changelings need, but because that’s what he was given by his adoptive researchers on Bajor, not knowing or caring what he needed otherwise, or if he needed anything to begin with. In the Great Link, otoh, changelings exist as a gestalt…
Aw, the Saturn L series deserves better. They were perfectly OK. Mine had 3L V6. And the stereo sounded great.
If I were given the option of an early C4 Corvette or a Fiero 2M6 or GT, I’d take the Fiero thanks.
It’s a dart. Or a missile. Its performance comes from thrust not lift, is what I’m getting at. Or more accurately, its relative thrust to drag. Yes, there is some lift, but its tiny compared to it just being a low drag dart. It’s a clever interpretation of what a paper airplane is...but I would say this is a record…
I think Terry Matalas has struck a lot of the right notes in his interviews about Trek, but this is an example of something that just sticks in my craw. There is no way he didn’t know about the pre-existing Titan. He just decided to ignore it/paper over it with the refit line, because he liked this design better.
I forced myself to sit through all of Season 1, and it was just far too stupid to come back to. I’ve heard nothing so far to make me regret that decision.
If she was a completely new ship it wouldn’t be a refit. By definition, “refit” means an upgrade of the existing ship.
Yes, I know they just assume it is not that important, but at least stay consistent within your own universe. The ship is shaped so differently “re-fit” just makes no sense. Just say it is a new ship and move on.
Except it’s not. They explicitly state in the episode itself she’s a refit, and the same ship Riker commanded in Lower Decks. The Captain even made a remark about having to scrub all of Riker’s jazz music out of the computers when he was being a colossal dick at dinner.
“I said to production designer Dave Blass, ‘I think the Titan should feel something like this.’”
Why Star Trek: Picard’s New Main Ship Looks Like the Classic Enterprise
I think it would have been really powerful to just show the same Luna class we've been seeing in Lower Decks. It would've helped connect this era of Trek in a way we haven't seen since the few TNG/DS9 crossovers.
