I rarely say “trust me”, but yeah trust me, in person it really works. And it is instantly recognizable as something special; it drew a hell of a crowd today, and lots of people were taking snapshots of it.

At this stage Tesla in some form or another is never going to die. Electric cars are here to stay and will eventually become dominant. Tesla’s assets, especially their IP, battery tech, charge network and Giga factory are always going to be valuable to somebody.
Lutz may be on to something. I don’t see Tesla failing but I can see the cars being future collectables.
The first half of his statement is true, and the second half may very well be true. Love Tesla or hate Tesla they have made an impact and eventually the Model S will be a collectible, even more so if the company goes under. Though I really do not believe the company will go under, at least not for another few years at…
It’s pretty ironic to hear Lutz talk about Tesla potentially going bankrupt when he was one of the highest people on the totem pole at GM when they went bankrupt and were subsequently bailed out by the US government.
Bob Lutz is a washed-up old coot whose opinions mean nothing anymore and have not for quite some time. But, by all means, keep worshipping him for shit he did a generation ago.
The very first car I bought after graduating as a young engineer was a red, 1991 Integra LS. What a fun car that was. It was between the Nissan 240SX and the Integra and I decided the Integra was the more versatile and being in New England, front drive was preferred. Drifting wasn’t at thing back then, as far as I…
I had a ‘97 with a manual. Terrific car.
As much as I’ve admired Bob, I think that in the last couple of years his brain is starting to fade.
I saw one today in person. It is a damn attractive car. The color, the debadging, it just works.
The only reason?
The Element doesn’t have great clearance, but enough to get through mountain passes in 8" of snow without tire chains (good snow tires are key). This particular road had a number of small creak crossings with some slippery clay, but the Element handled it surprisingly well. Obviously, it’s not a proper SUV or 4x4, but…
Holy crap that looks amazing. Did you have to navigate any muddy/rocky terrain? I’d like more clearance but I’m severely tempted to get one myself now...
I wish I still had mine. Sniffles.
This is the perfect choice.
This is a great pick.
I’ve driven across the country in a SUV and have taken multiple multi-state road-trips out west. What you’re looking for is a Honda Element.
Counterpoint: AC/DC is miserable, paint by numbers codger rock and any woman my age who likes them probably smokes, has 3kids from 4 boyfriends, and an opiate problem. Stay away.
Or are deceased.
