Didn’t it also have some guy that did a little guitar playing on the side as well as being an actor? What was his name? Jerry Reed... or was it Jimmy? And some guy that was on a sitcom in the 50s? Big guy... Father Knows Best or I Love Lucy or something...

That would be a good one - I would even forgive the slideshow thing for some good stories in that category. I’ve only got one myself after over a half century of life.

Damn holy grails are like cockroaches! The country seems to be infested with them. Can’t hardly move without bumping into one it seems. And probably getting tetanus from it.

This might be worth watching. It could well exceed the cringe level of the White House press correspondents dinner where Bush did that bit where he did the comedic pantomime search for the “missing” WMD’s in Iraq. Hiiiiilarious!!!!

Good to know some places are less crazy about phone rules. Having it in a holder seems to be alright here but having it in view and accessible (as they are with most inductive chargers I’ve seen) is verboten. Of course hands free is fine here too despite the studies showing that using that feature while driving is

I love those Jam Handy training films and the MST3K treatment of them. I would also love to know if it really was common practice for new car salesmen back then to walk door to door to visit sales prospects and try to sell them cars. The whole scenario seems bizarre.

The backup camera can be displayed in the rearview mirror. It does in both cars I own.

Now playing

There’s only one correct response to the people who think up things like this:

The pass through looks kind of dodgy (cracks in the sealing compound etc.), it’s kind of crude in general and I didn’t know you could even get faux brick wallpaper anymore but compared to some of the van and truck conversions I’ve seen on the Vancouver Craigslist this doesn’t seem all that bad. At least it doesn’t

This is almost as bad as trying to listen to Otis Eugene Ray, the “Timecube” guy Jason. I can’t believe your brain didn’t try to exit through your ear and run away to save itself.

We were only there two weeks and half of that was on Mull (where roundabouts aren’t an issue but single lane roads are!) but I still managed to see someone go straight through a mini roundabout and someone else make an initial wrong way turn into a conventional roundabout - both were RHD small commercial vans.

I prefer having the backup camera display in the rear view mirror. It keeps your eyes up at the level of the windows so your peripheral vision sees what’s outside and makes it easier to switch from the camera view to the window view.

Wow... I can understand being confused the first time a roundabout is encountered, especially if they’re not very well marked but responding to one by going into the oncoming lane while approaching it? That’s special. Good thing there wasn’t more traffic!

I’m confused too... are those one way, two lane streets or are those people actually going into the oncoming lane approaching and using the roundabout?

Regarding the Mach E: “5) High marks for reliability / low maintenance.”

If every car came with center locks this would never happen.

I see a Pharoah - Pharoah Sanders:

Smoke me a kipper, I’ll be back for breakfast.

Please, please, please make it something really crazy such as an SDR-200 or an NSR-250 two stroke or maybe one of the 250cc, four cylinder four stroke supersports.
