Too bad. They should really have a special door on airliners that people can be thrown out of when in flight. The last airliner that I can think of that made such an action possible was the 727 - and after DB Cooper they modified the latch on the rear airstair door so that it couldn’t be opened in flight so it’s been

The sad thing is that the piece, though written as biting satire, could easily be said in earnest in real life by some of the extremely wealthy. The torching of the car is the only thing in the article that I can’t see happening for real. I know of a case where vast amounts of newly installed Italian marble in a

Blindfolds are cheap and can fix the ugly. Kind of dangerous to wear when driving though.

Ford should just make the bricks of pot standard equipment - it might almost make the Fusion a good buy.

Only once, an old winch an and old Schweizer 2-22. It was memorable. You accelerate quickly, hold the ship level just above the ground until you have enough airspeed then rotate into a 45 degree climb (give or take a few degrees). As you get closer to the point in the air over the winch you progressively lower the

“The hood serves as a good water deflector to redirect the water directly into the air intake horn.”

I don’t think the red has any particular signifigance but I remember reading an articl about the Porsche “Special Wishes” program back around 1990. The pictures in the article showed some of the most horrifically tacky and ugly interiors I had ever seen on any vehicle, and I’m old enough to remember the custom van

I’ve been fortunate in that the Cherokee 140 I flew and the L-19's we use as towplanes are happy on either 100LL or Mogas. Almost all my time in the air has been in an ASW-15 glider where I don’t have to worry about fuel at all - though I do occasionally have to sit on the field shaking my fist at a sky with no lift:-)

Adequate altitude, decent visibility, a number of fields in range which vary from adequate to quite good for landing in - if the engine was going to breathe its last it looks like he was in a pretty good place for it. I know people who fly out to sandbars on the Fraser river that look a lot like the spot he landed

My 1974 2.8 four speed, fecal-mattr brown Capri. The best because it was my first car. The way it accelerated through the gears and the sounds that came out of the dual exhaust (it had a set of headers too) were pretty intoxicating as well. It was also the worst. The left rear quarter had filler up to an inch thick.

Tomorrow, Lifehacker will be showing what happens when you apply a hairdryer to wet paint.”

The first helicopter to go into production, the Flettner FL 282 Kolibri, used this rotor design. It’s been around awhile. I’ve seen K-MAX’s at work quite regularly here in BC. They are quite a sight. The weirdest thing about them though is that the founder of the Kaman company was also responsible for the Ovation

They actually did reuse part of it to make a spaceship prop:

Even by 1960's automotive standards 100 “low lead” aviation gasoline has one hell of a lot of tetraethyl lead in it. Using it will kill many O2 sensors used in fuel injection systems, it can foul spark plugs, it will deteriorate the engine oil a lot faster than unleaded and it’s also encourages corrosion in the

My eyes! The goggles, they do nothing! Also:

Yeah. nice to see Honda bolting ugly wings onto the cars at the factory so the owners don’t have to do it themselves. Seriously Honda, you’re killing me here. My last two cars have been Hondas and it would be great if my next one would be a Honda too but that isn’t going to happen with the way you’ve been going

MSRP on the base 370Z in Canada is under $24,000 U.S. Makes me wonder what Nissan Canada cut from our base version compared to the U.S. one.

Interior smells of tobacco though from all the times he was driving in his car, smoking his cigar.

Bring back the four door and make Travis Bickle and Jim Ignatowski special editions!

West Jet has me as an enemy for life because of the airspace grab they made over the Fraser Valley a few years back. That and the way they seem to like cancelling IFR, going VFR in uncontrolled airspace but don’t seem to want to ever look out of the damn windscreen when they do so.
