I did this yesterday on Firefox with my work gmail open, and looking for the switch accounts when it asked me if I wanted to allow gawker access to my info worked just fine with no need to close my gmail!

I actually did this yesterday and when you got to the use google, you need to check up on the right hand corner where it has your name- the menu that pops down has an option for switch accounts.
