@ProsumeThis: If shift in production to Vietnam were to happen, there will be heavy investment into the infrastructure by the Taiwanese in Vietnam. Taiwan is the top foreign investor in Vietnam believe it or not.

@uncle_jojo: Foxconn will be building a fully automated production factory in Taiwan with advanced robotics, so very minimal labor will be required. Probably only labor required are instrumentation maintenance staff. Otherwise, I can't really see how a shift of production to Taiwan would be profitable.

With the drop in WinMo platform shipment and Android platform not fully caught on yet with the general public. HTC is caught in analyst projection hell. But they are still profitable despite a down economy.

Technologies and consumer usage pattern is mature now for tablet computing to be successful. The Kindle (book e-reader) is a hit signifying that there is a demand and a big market waiting for an all encompassing tablet device.
